Welcome to Thailand

Once upon a time and not so long ago in Koh Samui – in Thai เกาะสมุย, the beautiful island off the east coast of Thailand, Hina and Shamshir made their dream come true.

We all know we can write the best chapters in life with love, and this was not a simple version of love, it was destiny. A beautiful wedding, in this amazing tropical scenery, that was as challenging an experience as tropical monsoon. A wedding that will be remembered by all, as being very special, leaving us with a quirky smile for several peculiarities that we shall not reveal…

As destination photographers, we were naturally overwhelmed by the scenery. Endless dreamy tropical sandy beaches, coral reefs lost in tides, in a tantalising composition of turquoise water and

jungles of coconut trees. The island looked like a well-established Hollywood celebrity: outrageously manicured, with lovely blonde tresses so gracefully groomed. No other environment could be more suitable for this wedding.

Meanwhile, and contrary to our plans, the weather was being tropically challenging.

This was indeed an exceptional day, and nothing special is ever ordinary, even when it comes to storms. When destiny is present, nothing can stop it from happening.

The Indian Wedding

And there were beautiful people, in overwhelming colours, flooded the resort, singing ]to wishes of love. There were vows, bonding families and blessings.

Blessed is word Hina never forgets to utter. There was dancing in the rain, and there was rain. Hard rain. As in a typical tropical monsoon.

Note to Hina & Shamshir > The name Samui is mysterious in itself. We were told by natives that the word “Samui” derives from the Malay word “saboey”, or “safe heaven”. And this is what we keep.

We shall not forget the kind hospitality and spirit of both their families and loved ones. We were privileged to have been, to have seen, to have captured and to have shared. And to have added yet another couple in our family of friends.

Life is moving pictures, and each time we blink our eyes, the world shifts beneath our feet, And we shift along in an endless dance, to music that elevates the spirit, to a place of transcending beauty. This determines the nature of our photographs.
Moments, memories and dreams
We live in a fairy tale with alternate endings. No safety net is there to prevent us from slipping, no caution signs to guide our steps. Conflicting images appear to us harmonious, and opposites are blended to form bland. Love and passion interfere with success and other such necessities, but, as if by miracle and through thousands of contradictions, finds its way no matter what. Yearning for the meaningful, it is transformed to harmony.

Finding joy in the glory of travel, we cannot seem to find anything that excites a greater sense of childish wonder, that to be in a country where we are ignorant of almost everything.

Where our existence depends on a series of guesses, and our comfort zone drops down to zero.
We travel a lot to find ourselves. We learn to live. To understand the differences and redefine the way we see the world and ourselves in it. Most of all, we get to live in this world with respect.
